Interesting article on the negatives of Human-Centered Design vs. Activity-Centered Design. This made me think more critically about what we are learning, even though I don't agree with his arguments. Just because something has been around for centuries and is successfully mastered by many does not mean that we shouldn't improve upon it to make it more intuitive and easy to use. He also thinks that HCD creates things that are too specific to the end user, therefore cannot be used globally. I don't see this as a problem now though, since the internet allows even the most niche markets to find and connect with the services or products they want. I liked learning about ACD, there are some good ideas that should be incorporated into HCD, if they haven't been already.
