In this article by Ideo I found a lot of options that can be used digitally when performing design research that are a lot more specific than just "the internet". Many of these tools may not necessarily be relevant to those of us while we are still in school since they can be subscription based or require payment, but they might be options moving forward and have free trials etc that could be relevant. The tools range from form builders to digital forms of presentation.
